Assist refugee & migrant school students to overcome educational disadvantage, by supporting their development of English, academic & social skills in one of our Homework/Learning Centres. Collaborate with other volunteers in small groups to assist primary students with fun learning activities: literacy, numeracy, speaking & listening, problem solving & co-ordination. Your outgoing nature & positive, can-do attitude will be highly regarded in this role. You'll be interacting on a 1:1 basis with members of our community as they participate in a variety of activities including going to the movies, morning tea & lunch. You'll need a current driver's licence & a comprehensively insured vehicle as you'll collect our clients from their home & bring them to the activity location.

We are seeking to build a team of volunteers to support our work in the community, share information about Mental Health Support, and Fundraise for our community projects. Primarily, this will involve our Market Stall sites across Newcastle and Lake Macquarie. This includes a rotating roster of volunteers for each site, setup of a marquee, tables, promotional materials, and sales of fundraising items. The role involves weekends and some night markets.
Your organisation and time management skills will be highly regarded in this Sort Assistant role. You will sort, classify, and process incoming raw stock and pack stock ready for distribution. This role ensures waste management procedures are adhered to in order to minimise waste removal costs and environmental impact. Ensure unloading and stockpiling of raw materials is carried out efficiently and carefully to minimise stock losses.
We are seeking volunteers to assist with our therapeutic groups and one-off events. Groups include recreational groups for children 8 - 11 years, groups for young people aged 12 - 15 years, and one off family and children's events and camps. Have fun and use your enthusiasm and energy to engage with participants in recreational activities and group discussions. Be a role model to participants by encouraging manners, social skills and respect. Assist with set up and pack down of activities.

Do you enjoy running a quiz? Share your skills with people living with dementia who are frail & elderly at our residential aged care home. Can you help bring some joy & fun to the elderly residents? You will set up a room with tables & chairs, assist in bringing residents together and announce the quiz questions. You will need a strong voice, a sense of humour, a cheerful demeanour and love to bring a smile to the residents' faces.
Do you like to knit, sew or crochet? Would you like to visit residents and provide conversation while you knit/sew/crochet? Some of our residents used to knit but are unable to now. They would love to watch you and chat.
We are building relationships with preschools close to our Residential Aged Care Home. Currently sharing artworks and letters between the children and Residents, with a view to hosting visits hopefully in the not-too-distant future. We’re looking for a volunteer who can bring ideas and activities for residents to engage in to share with the preschool children.
Do you enjoy hosting a good old sausage sizzle? We’re looking for volunteers to assist staff with a barbecue for residents in their cottage garden. Staff will be on hand, your role will be to turn the food over, so it cooks through and chat with residents around the barbecue.
