The Australian Epilepsy Project (AEP) aims to change the lives of people living with epilepsy through advanced testing and AI by 2025. To achieve this we need your help. We are seeking volunteers to join our control group. Control groups are vital to a research study providing a point of comparison for general participants and helping to determine the study's efficacy. Your participation will help shape the future landscape of epilepsy diagnoses and treatment for thousands of Australians.

Calling all "kids at heart"! The Newcastle and Hunter Toy Library is seeking a regular volunteer to assist with the running of the Toy Library sessions on Saturday mornings. The Toy Library is a terrific service based at New Lambton Library and run entirely by volunteers.

Programs may include face to face activities such as Activity days, Camps, and ‘Connect’ sessions (online). Your communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport will assist and support young people whilst on Program, building a relationship of trust. You’ll participate in program activities supervising and assisting young people as required.

This is an easy cleaning role! Your attention to detail, reliability, punctuality and commitment will be highly regarded. Your job will be to maintain the cleanliness of our hall, interior only. You will be working in air conditioned comfort. As you will be working with the aged, empathy with the frail & aged is needed. Role is available up to 2 days a week, 5 hours each day, but these days and hours will be discussed with each volunteer.

Help our elderly residents enjoy outings as you drive them on short local trips for 1-2 hours. Outings may include a picnic morning tea or lunch. You will be accompanied by one of our care staff who will look after the residents’ care needs. As the bus is an 11 seater, you will need a current Australian C class driver’s license and five years of good driving history. We will provide training and ongoing support from an on-site volunteer coordinator

Bring along your good-natured pet and spend time chatting with people living with dementia or may be frail and elderly at our residential aged care home. You’ll see what a difference your furry friend can make. When bringing your pet into an aged care environment with frail and elderly residents, we ask that your pet is: Calm, patient & gentle in nature, Up-to-date with vaccinations/treatment of worms & fleas, Nails are short &blunt. Freshly cut nails should be filed. Dogs must be on a lead.
