As a Local Coordinator, you will provide additional support to a High School Exchange student from overseas who is living with a host family and attending High School in your local community. A Local Coordinator must live within 2 hours of where a student is living. If you are interested in other cultures, young people and families, this role is perfect for you. You may have been an exchange student or host family yourself - but that is not a requirement.

This support is provided by the 'Dads in Distress' program of national suicide prevention charity, 'Parents Beyond Breakup'. Each group established is estimated to prevent 5-8 suicides in their local community each year. Thats around 7-16 kids that get to keep their dads in your local area, every year. As volunteer team/group manager, you are an integral part of the team that deliver that amazing outcome.
