The MV Cape Don Society Inc. is a non-profit association which was founded to carry out the refurbishment and conservation of the historic Commonwealth Lighthouse Service tender ship MV Cape Don, berthed at Balls Head, WAVERTON in Sydney Harbour. This 2000-tonne vessel was purpose-built to supply and maintain lighthouses and navigational aids all round Australia’s coastline. It was built at the Newcastle State Dockyards, NSW, and completed in January 1963. The Society offers opportunities in a unique maritime environment for volunteers in all trades and also for general duties.
