The South Australian State Emergency Service (SES) is a dynamic volunteer-based emergency service organisation which provides immediate assistance during emergency situations and natural disasters. Volunteers perform a variety of roles to help their community.
The Country Fire Service (CFS) accepts young men and women aged between 11-18 years to become cadets. The Cadet Program enables young people to learn about the CFS, develop practical skills required of CFS volunteers and also become involved with an organisation that provides opportunities for personal development. Please note: Not all brigades have a Cadet Program.
Being a St John First Aid Volunteer provides people with an opportunity to enhance their existing qualifications or learn a variety of new skills, whilst giving back to the community, a service that is truly valuable. St John First Aid Volunteers are readily mobilised to provide first aid or support services as part of the State Emergency Management Plan - working alongside the other emergency services during bush fires and floods.
