Older people living with dementia can be some of the most isolated individuals in our community. We are looking for extra generous and patient volunteers to bring cheer to our friends who are living with dementia. Can you help? Just an hour a week could make all the difference.

Do you speak Spanish? We have a lady living in a residential care facility in Hamlyn Terrace seeking a Spanish-speaking mature aged friend. She enjoys chatting and reminiscing about old times, and would love the company of someone who can engage in meaningful conversations with her.

Share your smile and companionship during fortnightly friendly visits with a nice, chatty Italian-speaking gentleman who lives in a retirement village. Visits may be spent talking or sharing in a simple leisure activity together. This gentleman would love just have a nice chat over a coffee/tea. Your regular visits can make a real and positive difference to his life - reducing social isolation and improving well-being.

Increase their wellbeing by looking at photos, reminiscing, reading the paper, going for walks in the garden, listening to music, playing games etc.. ***To be referred to this role an interview with Volunteering Central Coast's ACVVS Coordinator is required. Our centre is run entirely by volunteers, and we’re looking for compassionate individuals who are dedicated to supporting and enriching the lives of our senior community. If you have a love for cooking, or any previous kitchen experience, we’d love to have you on our team.
