Maitland Community Care Services is a not-for-profit organisation that provides practical home living services that promote choice, lifestyle, and independence. MCCS is the local service provider for Community Transport. Volunteers use MCCS’ fleet of well-maintained, branded vehicles to transport clients to attend shopping and/or appointments.

Beresfield Community Care is a not-for-profit In-Home Community Care Provider. We have clients living across the Maitland and Newcastle LGA. We require volunteers to provide essential transport services for our clients who may be aged, living with a disability, or experiencing disadvantage.

Meals on Wheels assist many people in the community to live independently in their own homes by providing a high quality meal delivery service. Our service assist people in maintaining their independence and improve their wellbeing. Maitland Meals on Wheels is looking for Delivery Drivers and Assistants to deliver meals to our client's home while providing brief social interaction and a friendly face.

You will be responsible for organising and sorting items for sale, assisting customers, processing sales, creating displays and assisting with the general housekeeping and appearance of the store.

Transport volunteers are required to take clients who live at home to appointments. Drivers will transport clients to attend appointments, shopping and other activities. The role includes assisting clients from their door into and out of vehicles.

Volunteers are needed to help at our Social Club accompanying small groups of members and staff on bus trips and other outings, joining in with art & craft activities, bingo, games, music etc.

Make a positive impact on the lives of our residents by assisting in the delivery of planned activity programs. Assist the current Activities Team with recreational activities and socialisation activities for residents. This may include assisting with setting up activities, activity participation and guidance. Your enthusiasm and love of the outdoors are required for this role. Tidy up and maintain our existing small garden adjacent to our retirement village. This includes tending shrubs and ground covers, mulching, planting and general garden duties.

Want to develop your customer service skills? We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers for the position of Floor Person in both our Op Shop and Food Supply areas. You will be responsible for stocking shelves, displaying merchandise, and providing support to customers.

We require an enthusiastic & physically fit Delivery Offsider to join our team. This role involves lifting, moving large items of furniture as well as loading a trailer. You must have a good understanding of and be able to apply safe manual handling practices and be able to follow directions.

A low stress role in the company of other volunteers, where, once a week, you would help make sure the kitchen and fridge are clean, do a bit of tidying, light dusting and wiping over library shelves. This role would suit someone who has an interest in conservation, who wants to meet new people and enjoy their company.

Use your knowledge of the natural environment and research skills to develop a series of environmental education activities. Activities are designed to enable participants to safely investigate social history and explore the wetlands flora and fauna of one of the Hunters most significant biodiversity centers. Full access to the resources of the organisation will be provided to support the development of easily reproduced and copied materials.
