The monthly planting day is held on the 3rd Sunday of each month. You'll join this dedicated team who use these days to expand the revegetation of natural bushland across currently cleared areas. No experience necessary. Over the past 25 years, this program has led to the creation of a National Park!
Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) are thrilled to be a Newcastle Knights Charity Partner in 2025. Volunteers will sell raffle tickets to fans inside the venue on match day to support BCNA and are welcome to stay and watch the game once volunteer duties are complete. Assist our Team Leader in preparing by handling our animals for transportation in containers and monitoring them during transportation to and from the venue. This role includes supporting the presenter by handling animals during animal talks, returning animals to their enclosures and cleaning and decontaminating used containers.

This is a shared role, willing to meet others face to face to create an inclusive and supportive social network in the Hunter New England region. Experience with chronic pain is a must. 5 to 8 hours per month.

The University of Newcastle has an independent Animal Care and Ethics Committee (ACEC) which oversees the care and welfare of animals used in research and teaching. The ACEC is made up of both academic members from the University and people representing a cross section of the community (e.g. lay people, veterinary scientists, animal welfare representatives). We currently have vacancies on the University’s ACEC for community members.

Could you help make someone's day a bit brighter? The Kurri Kurri Hospital Volunteers provide a cafe called Pinkies 4 days a week and could use your support. The cafe provides lunch to staff and visitors, coffee, tea and snacks. There is no primary cooking (only heating up) but they do make the most delicious salad sandwiches around. Hours of operation are from 9am to 2pm weekdays but we are open to discussion if this time needs to be flexible.
