Uniting Quong Tart age care home is seeking energetic volunteers to provide activity and social support for our lovely residence.

We’re after an extra special volunteer for our Trolley Talk program, an intergenerational program with Ashfield Boys High School, where seniors and students meet at Ashfield Mall for an hour to shop, walk and talk.

Would you like to brighten someone’s day with a visit and chat? Our visiting program supports clients who find it difficult to get out of their home into the community. Clients look forward to and gain confidence from social interaction in a familiar setting. Volunteer with us if you are interested in using your social skills to help someone maintain their independence.

Love the outdoors and want to make a difference in your community? Join our gardening team! Work alongside other volunteers and a qualified horticulturalist to help keep our gardens beautiful through weeding, pruning, sweeping, and mulching.

Sorting through donated electrical items to decide what is repairable, reusable and what needs to be recycled. Assist with daily set up and coordination Requirements: No need for any experience or prior knowledge, but, if you are a tinkerer with electronics, and always fixing things at home, then we can really use your skills! Wear close-toed shoes and bring gloves if you have them.

The Community Visitors Scheme is seeking volunteer visitors for regular social visits in a one-on-one or group.

To bring joy and social connection to an older person by visiting them in their own homes - in Summer Hill LGA. You may be able go for a short walk together, go to a cafe or stay indoors for a cuppa and a chat. Approximately an hour a week or fortnight at a time to suit both of you.
