Beyond Words is a NFP organisation run by volunteers with a passion for preserving the life stories of older people living in Aged Care Residences. We currently have big demand for our free biography service in the Western Suburbs including: Airport West, Essendon, Kensington, Flemington, Footscray, Sunshine, Werribee, Williamstown and Yarraville. Support older Australians to learn basic techniques of drawing in a fun, friendly, online environment. Within this volunteer role, you will engage with residents who prefer non-group engagement and have minimal visitor interactions or may benefit from individual support in a group dynamic. Engagement visits can involve general conversation, playing cards, scrabble, playing music etc. The engagement is aligned with the interest preferences of the resident. Volunteers will be matched to residents for continuity and opportunity to develop relationships and rewarding connections.
