Volunteer Facilitator required to support older Australians to draw - virtual volunteer role

About the role We are seeking a Volunteer Facilitator to lead our new online Drawing Club, as part of our Online Clubs Program. The successful applicant would be responsible for virtually teaching small groups of older Australians, basic techniques of drawing, in a friendly environment.
Sessions are held on Thursdays at 1pm-2pm (Qld time).
Our Online Clubs Program sparks joy and passion by helping older people engage in their favourite hobbies and activities in a virtual setting. This is facilitated through our Virtual Community Centre where participants can connect, learn, and enjoy.
As this is a virtual role, applicants can be based anywhere in Australia but must be able to facilitate in Queensland time zone.
What will you be doing in the role?
- You will create easy to follow content for each session to teach over an 11-week block. Staff can assist with content creation as needed.
- Facilitate weekly sessions for an hour, ensuring everyone has an opportunity to participate.
- Participants will be bringing their own materials therefore a list of suggested materials to start would be great to provide for them.
About you
- Knowledgeable or skilled in drawing/art
- Excellent communication skills - able to articulate well, heard and understood by those that may be hard of hearing
- Patient
- Ability to navigate difficult conversations
- Comfortable with teaching in an online setting
