Spread Joy, by joining our Volunteer Team! The HammondCare Volunteer program is a great way for you to make a meaningful difference to the life of an older person, right here in South East Sydney. An elderly Man living at home in Randwick would enjoy the company of a volunteer. His interests include good conversation (Both English and Greek speaking), coffee and pottering in the garden. He would love to meet someone to join him in a short stroll with his 4 wheel frame.
The Sydney Heritage Fleet Workshops in Rozelle Bay is a busy hive of activity. Our main restoration project is steamer John Oxley, and there are many regularly used vessels on which maintenance is essential. You will find yourself in a very happy friendly work environment where there are no cliques or feuds or jealousies. Just the keen desire to have the joy of having a productive day.

All our vessels are restored and maintained in-house by our own volunteers. Large quantities of very expensive Marine Paint Finishes are bought and not always properly stored after partial use. Your job will be to create some order out of chaos.
Sydney Heritage Fleet has a world-class collection of steam ships, harbour ferries and especially the fully rigged tall ship James Craig. All our vessels were restored and are maintained in-house by our own volunteers. So enormous quantities of historic components, spares and materials have been acquired and used or kept for use when needs arise. Sadly these stores of parts and material have in the usual way fallen into a mess. Your job will be to create some order out of chaos.
