Sydney Heritage Fleet is a volunteer organisation dedicated to preserving, restoring and operating vessels representing Australia's maritime history. They include 1902 steam tug Waratah, 1902 VIP steam launch Lady Hopetoun, Tall Ship James Craig, ferry Kanangra, steamship John Oxley, under restoration and several diesel motor launches.

Our current major project is the restoration to full operating condition of "Kanangra" a 1,000 - passenger Sydney harbour ferry. . You will be a skilled welder and steel fabricator to aid in the early stages of restoration, particularly the hull. We held over 171 events requiring volunteers in 2023....Galas, toy room packing, Santa elves, pom pom making, City to Surf, Convoy for Kids, Lego Brickbuilt, more galas, Mothers Day stalls in hospitals, Childrens week in hospitals, TikTok filming, TVC filming, Sydney Sick Kids Day, Giving Day, BBQ helpers, Christmas concerts, Golf Days, Car Clubs, Walk for KIds with Cancer, Nurses Ball, corporate days to name just a few!!!
