We are looking for a caring individual who can sit and have a chat in Polish, reminisce, and talk about topics of interest with an elderly person living with dementia. Ideally, you will be able to speak Polish conversationally.

Do you have good teamwork skills and like helping others? Clothing Pool Volunteers will assist with the operation of the Clothing Pool at our Centre. This role involves unpacking and sorting donated clothing according to a set of guidelines, including sorting according to size and season. Packaging clothing and delivering items and packs to the Centre via a trolley from the Volunteer Office. Reviewing and maintaining stock levels, including assisting with targeted appeals for donations.

HammondCare pastoral care volunteers have an opportunity to support the spiritual and emotional needs of the elderly people living in an aged care home. As a pastoral care volunteer you’ll be actively involved with a local Christian church.

We’re looking for a caring person who can speak Cantonese to provide conversation and companionship. You will brighten up the day for an elderly resident living at HammondCare Waratah as you spend an hour together each week or fortnight.

We are looking for a reliable person to assist us one to two days per week to keep our Residential Care Home looking its best. Duties may include tidy up of our gardens, pruning, site rubbish pickup, minor repair or maintenance, changing light globes. BBQ checks. pressure washing paths. re-arranging storerooms, painting and lubricating door locks. If you feel this is a good match for you, we'd like to hear from you.

Do you love to sing or showcase your musical skills! Come join in the fun! Share your love of music with our residents in our HammondCare dementia cottages at Waratah. Bring your own instrument to play some tunes or help lead a sing-along.

As a Coffee Cart volunteer you'll be assisting with making coffee for residents at Waratah. You'll help operate a cart located inside the facility making serving guests and making hot beverages.

Do you enjoy running a quiz? Share your skills with people living with dementia who are frail and elderly at our residential aged care home in Waratah. Ideally, you’ll be available to set up a room with tables and chairs, assist in bringing residents together and announce the quiz questions.

Enjoy the great outdoors and spend time in the sunshine as you stroll around our Aged Care Home Gardens at Waratah, walking alongside elderly residents living with dementia. You'll be helping people to maintain their mobility as well as their healthy wellbeing.

Share a YARN as you chit chat and click clack at Waratah. Would you like to visit residents and provide conversation while you knit/sew/crochet? Some of our residents used to knit but are unable to now. They would love to watch you and chat.

Sometimes assist with a gentle walk in a park or sit on a bench watching the dolphins & surfers, taking in the beautiful scenery. You will be helping older Residents in care enjoy their bus outing and have fun in the community.

Make everyone’s day by pushing a trolley with all kinds of sweet treats around to residents who are living with dementia. You’ll bring joy to each person every time you enter the room.

We’re looking for a volunteer to assist taking residents (on our bus with a staff member) to a local Children’s Centre, helping them to engage with the children at the preschool, sing, dance, read stories, play games, etc. A Working with Children Check is required.
