Sydney Heritage Fleet is a volunteer organisation dedicated to preserving, restoring and operating vessels representing Australia's maritime history. They include 1902 steam tug Waratah, 1902 VIP steam launch Lady Hopetoun, Tall Ship James Craig, ferry Kanangra, steamship John Oxley, under restoration and several diesel motor launches.
Our current major project is the restoration to full operating condition of "Kanangra" a 1,000 - passenger Sydney harbour ferry. . You will be a skilled welder and steel fabricator to aid in the early stages of restoration, particularly the hull. ACVVS program at Sydney MCS provides FREE social supports for the senior community in Sydney. We seek Arabic speaking volunteer to visit a senior female at home. We are highly valued our wonderful volunteers, and your help will significantly reduce isolation and increase their quality of life.

The Sydney Heritage Fleet Workshops in Rozelle Bay is a busy hive of activity. Our main restoration project is steamer John Oxley, and there are many regularly used vessels on which maintenance is essential. You will find yourself in a very happy friendly work environment where there are no cliques or feuds or jealousies. Just the keen desire to have the joy of having a productive day.
