Calling all "kids at heart"! The Newcastle and Hunter Toy Library is seeking regular volunteers to assist with the running of the Toy Library sessions on Saturday mornings. The Toy Library is a terrific service based at New Lambton Library and run entirely by volunteers.
The Toy Library needs someone to volunteer on a Tuesday 9.30-12. The job is helping to sort, check and count toys and put them away on their shelves. There is also some carrying of things to cars as needed by the members who borrow toys. The applicant needs to be physically able, they need to have good concentration and attention to detail. The volunteer driver is responsible for the transportation of Beyond Blindness members to various services offered by the organisation including social groups and bus trips and occasional medical/ shopping and can include one on one social. Volunteers are welcomed as part of the small team in the southern area. All volunteers are given training to assist blind persons. The Driver will be required to use their own vehicle which will have comprehensive insurance. Mileage will be reimbursed.
