Sydney Heritage Fleet is a volunteer organisation dedicated to preserving, restoring and operating vessels representing Australia's maritime history. They include 1902 steam tug Waratah, 1902 VIP steam launch Lady Hopetoun, Tall Ship James Craig, ferry Kanangra, steamship John Oxley, under restoration and several diesel motor launches.

James Craig is a magnificent operating tall ship – a 3-masted barque built in 1874 so she is now 150 years old – and she needs you to help look after her! Our current major project is the restoration to full operating condition of "Kanangra" a 1,000 - passenger Sydney harbour ferry. . You will be a skilled welder and steel fabricator to aid in the early stages of restoration, particularly the hull. HammondCare pastoral care volunteers have an opportunity to support the spiritual and emotional needs of the elderly people living in an aged care home. As a pastoral care volunteer you’ll be a Christian actively involved with a local church in the area.

Spend time with residents talking and listening to their stories, or enjoy calming relaxation music together. Training provided in gentle hand massage and simple nail care (such as filing or nail polish).

As a Shopping Companion Volunteer you'll be assisting a resident in care to attend the local shops in Kings Cross. The role will include pushing her in her wheel chair to attend the supermarket and returning to Darlinghurst during the morning once a week.
