The Red Cross Young Parents Program (YPP) is specifically designed for young people who are parenting with limited family or community support. As a Community Gardener Volunteer, you will help create a beautiful and functional space for young parents and children to enjoy.

Your general gardening skills and love of working outdoors will be greatly appreciated in this role. Help keep the grounds and surrounds of our Aged Care Facility looking good for the enjoyment of our residents and visitors. This role involves pruning shrubs, weeding, raking of leaves and watering. Other small, related tasks as directed.

You will assist our property staff by participating in activities related to the maintenance and general upkeep of our property. Activities may include · Touch up painting · Outdoor furniture upkeep · General gardening · Wood mulch distribution ·Feeding birds & cleaning bird cage ·Assisting move small items of furniture ·Assisting to move life engagement equipment such as a ping pong table ·Assisting to set up for events and BBQs ·Wheelchair repair ·Trimming branches and cleaning with a gurney.

Volunteers required for weeding, propagation of plants for nursery and general garden maintenance of a unique and historic Homestead. Days required Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday 9 am to 2 pm. Great opportunity to make new friends and give back to the community. Centrelink approved. Working as a team member is essential.
