Easy Care Gardening is a subsidised gardening service for people who are older. Teams of volunteers weed, prune, mulch to make gardens safe and tidy, with the aim of keeping people in their own homes for longer. Volunteers enjoy working outdoors and keeping fit. They work with the same people regularly, make new friends and feel they are making a real contribution to their local community. They meet the people they are helping, share morning or afternoon tea with them, and can see what a difference their voluntary work can make to someone's life.
