Hammondville residential aged care home provide care for people living with dementia. We are looking for a lead singer, who will be accompanied by a pianist for a singalong group that occurs every fortnight on a Tuesday between 10:30am and 12 noon. The main purpose of the role is to help people living with dementia to reminiscence. The role is not for a professional singer, instead for someone with a love for music and singing and the passion to make a difference to our elderly residents.
Share your love of music with our residents in our HammondCare dementia cottages at Hammondville. Bring your own instrument to play some tunes or help lead a sing-along.
As a HammondCare At Home volunteer, you’ll spend time with an elderly person in your local community each week in their home. You'll help to improve their quality of life and help reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation.

Chair exercise group volunteers bring the energy of a fitness workout but guide people with gentle movements, as participants are sitting comfortably in a chair. Perhaps you have a background in fitness, dance, yoga, physio or Pilates and you'd like to lead a small group. You'll be helping older residents in care to maintain their mobility as well as their healthy wellbeing - and have fun!
You will help to provide companionship while pampering residents with gentle touch and an opportunity for connection and conversation. Spend time with residents talking and listening to their stories, or enjoy calming relaxation music together. Training provided in gentle hand massage and simple nail care (such as filing or nail polish).
With your assistance as a mini-bus driver, elderly aged care residents from HammondCare in North Turramurra will enjoy an outing in their local area. You will be accompanied by one of our care staff who will look after the resident care needs.
