The Australian Epilepsy Project (AEP) aims to change the lives of people living with epilepsy through advanced testing and AI by 2025. To achieve this we need your help. We are seeking volunteers to join our control group. Control groups are vital to a research study providing a point of comparison for general participants and helping to determine the study's efficacy. Your participation will help shape the future landscape of epilepsy diagnoses and treatment for thousands of Australians.

Your energy and enthusiasm, ability to cycle a trishaw carrying 2 people and empathy with the frail aged and disabled members of our community are a must for this role. You'll peddle the trishaw, ferrying people (including a carer) in the front seat around areas of Newcastle and Lake Macquarie. You'll need to be fully vaccinated for COVID 19 and willing to undergo a current National Criminal Check.

Volunteer with this Service and provide a support person role for people with cognitive impairment at courthouses, police stations, lawyer’s offices and prisons. Volunteers ensure that criminal justice processes and language are explained clearly and that the client’s wishes and decisions are respected. Your strong communication skills and the ability to relate to and interact well with others will be highly regarded. Basic computer skills are required for this role.

Red Nose are looking for volunteers to help sell merchandise and accept donations as part of the 36th annual Red Nose Day appeal on Friday 9th August! Are you a Social Worker, Counsellor or Psychologist looking to support Young People? Canteen, delivers overnight programs, workshops and recreational and social events that bring young people together to build peer relationships. As a Psychosocial Support volunteer, your role will be to provide effective psychosocial support and information to young people during programs and specifically through the facilitation and delivery of manualised group work content on overnight programs.

Grant is a man in his 70’s who is living with mid stages of dementia. He is living in his own and has a warm friendly personality. Across his career he was an expert in reptiles and enjoys sharing stories of his journey to Australia. People living with dementia are some of our most isolated community members. Could you give 1 hour a fortnight to make a difference?

Red Nose Day is our headline fundraising campaign each year, raising funds to support the work of Red Nose in saving little lives and caring for bereaved families, and raising awareness for the cause. Merchandise stall holders collect cash and facilitate EFTPOS donations, and sell small merchandise. Support Red Nose funding vital programs and bereavement care services.

As a Local Coordinator, you will provide additional support to a High School Exchange student from overseas who is living with a host family and attending High School in your local community. A Local Coordinator must live within 2 hours of where a student is living. If you are interested in other cultures, young people and families, this role is perfect for you. You may have been an exchange student or host family yourself - but that is not a requirement.

Red Nose has embarked on an exciting project to deliver a new website to maximise the impact of our online presence. Red Nose is Australia’s leading authority on safe sleep and safer pregnancy advice as well as bereavement support for anyone affected by the loss of a pregnancy, stillbirth or the death of a baby or child. Search Engine Optimisation will be essential to ensuring that our content reaches the families who need it.

To facilitate street fundraising, we need a Street Fundraising Captain in each location to coordinate volunteer efforts, manage logistics and ensure funds are safely banked.

Are you a Doctor, Nurse or Paramedic looking to support Young People Living with Cancer? Canteen relies on the assistance and support of our volunteers to help us deliver our programs for young people. We can’t run our programs without our generous volunteers. Our volunteers provide support, administer medication and first aid, participate in and help run activities and most importantly have fun in the process!

Everyone is welcome to volunteer at parkrun events. We have heaps of fun, simple and rewarding opportunities to lend a hand for one to two hours on a Saturday morning at parkrun events across Australia. No training is required, roles are fully supported on the day and you can take part as often or as little as you would like. You can volunteer as a marshal, timekeeper, photographer or try your hand at scanning barcodes and handing out tokens…..to name a few of the roles we have available.
