Your friendly personality and excellent driving record are required for this role. Drive our 12-seater Sprinter bus to collect in the morning and drop off in the afternoon clients attending our day centre. You will be accompanied by a staff member but will be required to assist to place walkers on to the bus and make them secure. Some activities will be for a full day from 8am – 4pm, while others may involve attending local events and attractions.

You will provide people with an opportunity to reflect on their life, to leave special memories and messages for loved ones or help family members understand their story and life experiences. Many people find the telling of their story therapeutic and fulfilling so the process of recording a story is as important as the result. Volunteers visit clients at home to record their stories with a voice recorder. They will then type this up and allow the client to review and make changes or additions.

Your energy and enthusiasm, ability to cycle a trishaw carrying 2 people and empathy with the frail aged and disabled members of our community are a must for this role. You'll peddle the trishaw, ferrying people (including a carer) in the front seat around areas of Newcastle and Lake Macquarie. You'll need to be fully vaccinated for COVID 19 and willing to undergo a current National Criminal Check.

John was injured in a work place accident , he is in 60’s now , he is finding it hard to get out and about and really needs a mate to drop in and have a chat.
