We have an 88yo mother, who grew up on an Australian farm, now living in a Griffith aged care home who would enjoy a female volunteer for social support visits. She enjoys reading, craft, word games and crosswords. She loves gentle conversation, playing board games and friendly visits to lift her spirits. Once per Fortnight or weekly visits would be beneficial with a 12-month commitment.
CBR NightCrew volunteers are essential to the delivery of the CBR NightCrew program which provides support to intoxicated and vulnerable people in Civic on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. The program aims to minimise the risk of alcohol-fuelled violence and assist people to get home safely. In doing so, the CBR NightCrew program helps fulfill St John ACT’s commitment to provide community care solutions in the service of humanity. Volunteers work as part of a team 9.30pm to 4am.

We have a 90yr old gentleman living in a Page aged care home who would enjoy a volunteer for social support visits. He played tennis until 83, loves martial arts, Siamese cats and has created historical model ships and handmade leather goods. This kind soul has many interesting stories having served as a weather observer and public servant.
Any volunteer mechanics who would like to help us fix cars and train disadvantaged people in the skills to maintain a car would be appreciated. We have a car program where our program participants earn the chance to buy a fixed up car so they can undertake meaningful employment in the future.
