QSHBA is a volunteer-run not-for-profit group that is very active in the community. We have 4 permanent bands that perform regularly: the Queensland Mounted Infantry Historical Troop Band, the Queensland Show Band, the Bayside Youth Band and QSHBA Drum Corps. With current volunteers focused on teaching and performance roles, we need 1 or more volunteers to help keep us going behind the scenes, assisting with clerical duties, band room maintenance, as well as library and asset management.

The primary role of Bookshop Volunteer is to assist with the day to day running of the bookshop, which includes selling books, receiving donations, customer service and general duties. All profits go to producing and providing reading materials for people who are blind or have low vision.

Duties include but are not limited to: • Binding and labelling braille books • Cutting and sizing braille sheets • Producing thermoform calendars • Operating associated machines • Organising requisition ordering
Queensland Braille Writing Association (Braille House) is a not-for-profit organisation staffed primarily by volunteers specialising in tactual literacy. Braille House provides Braille and Moon tuition and reading materials to empower people who are blind or who have low vision to live with dignity and independence. The Library Assistant position exists to manage and develop an innovative and contemporary Braille and Moon Library to meet our diverse existing and future clients.
Logan Hyperdome Library requires a registered Justice of the Peace to volunteer in the library on Mondays and/or Tuesday afternoons for 2 hours.
