You may know us by our nickname "The Blue Bag People" and you may have filled a bag or three over the years to donate to us. Our Mission is to provide our community with easy ways to turn unwanted clothing into practical help and hope for people in need both locally and globally. It all starts with us providing a free clothing collection service from people’s homes in the communities of Lake Macquarie, Newcastle, Maitland, Port Stephens, Cessnock, Singleton and the Central Coast. From there our clothing donations go across Australia and around the global to help people in need. Each year we save thousands of kilos of clothes, shoes and linens from going to landfill, helping our environment. We now have 3 Op Shops in Tanilba Bay, Cardiff and Warners Bay to help our community. One of our joys is providing volunteer opportunities and all the blessings that gives to people in our community – purpose, connection, friendship, work experience, an opportunity to give back and make a difference. Here's what our volunteers say: Debbie - "I love being part of the team here. It has literally changed my life. I am so much happier and healthier since I started volunteering here." Corinne - "After years working in the corporate world it's great to still use my skills in retirement, and all for a great cause." Doug - "As a uni student it's good to know I get to spend my days with a great bunch of people as I give back and enjoy every day being a new adventure. I appreciate that this is something I can do around uni classes." Jo - "I love people and I love making a difference. Volunteering at Church 4 Life Clothing Collectors helps keep me young. I have MS and they are very kind in giving me tasks I can do within my limitations." Give your heart that smile that comes from a day well spent in helping others and working with friends.
