With the warmer weather and school or work finishing for the year, you may have considered engaging in one-off volunteering.

At Easy Care Gardening, we support the older community in living at home for longer by transforming their outdoor spaces into a safer and more manageable environment. We offer a gardening maintenance service led by volunteers, who are essential to our mission and make our work possible. We work in the local government areas of Ryde, Hornsby, Hunters Hill and Ku-ring-gai.

As a volunteer, no skills are needed. If you’re reasonably active, willing to help and have a “can-do” teamwork attitude, then you’re a perfect fit!

With just 1 week's notice, no formal commitment is needed, just 3 hours per shift is all it takes. You can volunteer as much or as little as you wish.

You will receive all the necessary training, all expenses are reimbursed, and all tools and materials are provided.

You will:

• Acquire new skills
• Connect with like-minded individuals
• Enhance the well-being of an older person by assisting in the transformation of their personal space.

You will see first hand the positive impact you can make on someone else's life.

You can expect to be outside in a team, enjoying the fresh air, as you weed, prune shrubs, mulch the garden and trim plants and trees to create a safe space for the older resident to enjoy once again.
