We are the largest disability provider in NSW supporting children and adults with cerebral palsy. Cerebral Palsy (CP) is a permanent disability which affects movement. It results from damage to the developing brain, usually before birth. Every 15 hours a child is born with cerebral palsy - that means one in 400 babies. There is no known cure, and for most the cause is unknown. CP is a lifelong condition, and its impact varies from person to person. MissionStatement: Building Futures for people with cerebral palsy and their families. Cerebral Palsy Alliance (formerly The Spastic Centre) was formed in 1945 by a group of concerned parents who were looking for advice, therapies and support for their children with cerebral palsy. It was the first organisation of its type in the world. Cerebral Palsy Alliance is committed to assisting children, adults and families over their life span, to enhance their quality of life and make the most of their participation in the community. Each year Cerebral Palsy Alliance provides a range of services to babies, children and adults across NSW and the ACT.
