The principal activities of the MCF Group for the year ended 30 June 2024 are driven by our foundational vision: All Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island children and their families will be empowered to thrive during their formative years. This vision guides our transformative work in creating environments and opportunities where First Nations children can flourish, laying the groundwork for lifelong success and cultural connection. Our signature Raising Happy Kids program exemplifies this vision in action. This innovative parenting program, designed specifically for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, builds capacity in parents and carers of all backgrounds to create nurturing environments that foster independence, self-confidence, and a love of learning. By offering this program free of charge to service delivery partners, early childhood specialists, and community members, we ensure accessibility and broad impact across communities. A landmark development this year was the acquisition of land in Kamerunga, marking the beginning of an ambitious project that will redefine excellence in primary education. Set in an inspiring bush setting that connects children with nature, this pioneering Montessori school will be a global beacon of educational innovation. The school will seamlessly blend rigorous STEAM education with Montessori philosophy and methodology, creating an environment where children develop both academic excellence and essential life skills. Through scholarships for First Nations children and a curriculum that honours cultural wisdom while embracing future-focused learning, we are cultivating the next generation of changemakers and leaders. These young people will graduate not just with knowledge, but with the vision, skills, and determination to address the critical challenges facing our world, from environmental sustainability to social equity.
