Tweed Landcare Inc. (TLI) is an incorporated not-for-profit organisation which has been active in the Tweed Valley since 1997. Tweed Landcare has been successfully helping people work together for the Tweed environment for 23 years. We help coordinate and resource volunteer groups, assist farmers and conservation landholders to better care for their land and provide information and training through workshops, newsletters and courses. We provide employment to contractors and suppliers, bringing over $2 million to the Tweed over the years through external grants and employment of part-time Landcare Coordinators and Project Officers. We work with a mix of community groups e.g. Birdlife Northern Rivers, Caldera Environment Centre, Tweed Valley Wildlife Carers, Coastcare, Dunecare, other local Tweed Landcare groups (e.g. Coastcare, Dunecare groups etc), primary producers, private landholders, Landcare networks and government bodies (e.g. Tweed Shire Council, NSW Local Land Services). We couldn't do all this without the volunteer Tweed Landcare committee who lend their skills and enthusiasm to keep it all going, support our staff and ensure the community has a real say on important Landcare issues in the Tweed.
