Southern Dandenongs Landcare Group Inc. (SDLG) is a volunteer organisation working to protect the biodiverse natural environment of the Dandenong Ranges and facilitate solutions to address identified threats to its ecosystems. SDLG will do this through: 1.Community Education and participation in community events which promote Landcare and best practise conservation and land management. 2.Support to local volunteer groups that are regenerating specific reserves/public land (or advancing environmental sustainability): promoting their work, recruiting or training volunteers, auspicing and administrating their grants. 3.Observation and documentation of local ecosystems and advocacy on environmental needs. 4.Collaboration with environmental groups and mobilising volunteers to undertake monitoring, revegetation, rehabilitation and restoration works 5.Liaison with or lobbying relevant authorities at all levels of government, for financial and physical help and to preserve the integrity of the natural environment especially public lands within Dandenong Ranges.
