Barwon Park | National Trust

Logo for Barwon Park | National Trust

The National Trust endeavours to be an independent membership organisation committed to the conservation of our heritage. Barwon Park was built by Thomas Austin, and completed in 1871. A historic building which has had much restoration work, it is open to visitors twice a week and well worth a visit. Featuring period furniture, Barwon Park gives a great feel of how life was lived in the early colonial history of Victoria. Enter through the front door and you are greeted by a large hall with a magnificent double staircase. Many of the 42 rooms are furnished as originally as possible. Barwon Park is also the venue for occasional special functions and can even be hired for weddings and similar events. Originally the property comprised 12,000 hectares, and was noted for its sheep and horses. Barwon Park Mansion is a property of the National Trust - to find out more visit our website.
