Volunteer Assistance Visit Member
St Vincent de Paul Society SAThe St Vincent de Paul Society's 40,000 members and volunteers work hard to assist people in need and combat social injustice across Australia. Internationally, the Society operates in 130 countries and has over 950,000 members.
We are now looking for volunteer Assistance Visit Members.
The volunteer groups (also referred to as "conference") are usually parish based. In this volunteer role, you will be part of this group (conference) that assists the poor and disadvantaged in your community.
The position includes:
- Visiting people seeking assistance from the St Vincent de Paul Society with another conference member.
- Provide assistance to people in need in a responsive and dignified manner, including material help, advocacy, referrals and/or a range of other actions
- Ensure there are sufficient resources (as provided by the Conference) to assist when visiting people
- Report back at the conference meeting about the visits
- Maintain the privacy of those we assist
- A listening ear
