The St Vincent de Paul Society's 40,000 members and volunteers work hard to assist people in need and combat social injustice across Australia. Internationally, the Society operates in 149 countries and has over 950,000 members. By volunteering to make a difference, either as a regular volunteer or as a volunteer on a special project, you can make a difference for those in need. For some Vinnies’ volunteers this is a chance to give something back to the community, to use their skills and experience in ways that make a difference in the lives of people who need their help. For others, it is a chance to learn new skills and to get experience in a supportive environment.
