During these challenging times we need volunteers more than ever, to support isolated people in our community to feel socially connected again. If you’re a ‘people person’ and would like to make a difference to the life of someone who is socially isolated we would love to hear from you!

Jane wants to spend time with someone who'll share her interests, and support and encourage her to achieve her social goals and reconnect with her hobbies. Jane's interests include reading, surfing the internet and spending time with family.

The selected applicant will be positive, reassuring, chatty, patient and non-judgemental. Be prepared to share both in-home and community-based visits with the participant for conversation and a coffee. Your own vehicle will be required to transport Jane* on outings. Valid drivers license necessary. Effective communication skills and confidence to work independently are a must. Some experience/knowledge of memory loss would be highly regarded. Induction, ongoing supervision and opportunities for professional development provided.

Participant's name has been altered to maintain her privacy. Interested? For further information, please contact 13 93 75 and quote CB-E-08.**Please note that during COVID-19 this role will commence over the phone, which will enable you to establish rapport and connection with Jane and enable her to stay connected to the community.
