Volunteer Research & Knowledge Officer (Remote)

We are seeking a passionate volunteer with strong research skills to help support the ongoing development of a growing Australian not-for-profit community organisation.
This role is ideal for a:
- PhD candidate or PhD graduate
- Masters student
- Academic researcher
- Health, science, social science, psychology, education, disability, or public policy student
- Experienced librarian or information specialist
- Research assistant seeking meaningful community impact
About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented volunteer who enjoys finding, reviewing, organising and summarising high-quality information from reputable sources.
The successful volunteer will assist with:
- Identifying relevant peer-reviewed research papers and studies
- Locating evidence-based articles, reports and publications
- Monitoring emerging research and developments in relevant fields
- Assessing the credibility and quality of information sources
- Creating concise summaries of key findings
- Assisting with the categorisation and organisation of information resources
- Supporting knowledge-sharing initiatives within our community
Skills & Experience
We would love to hear from applicants who have:
- Strong academic or professional research skills
- Experience conducting literature reviews or evidence searches
- Excellent written communication skills
- Attention to detail and strong organisational abilities
- Ability to interpret and summarise complex information for general audiences
- Familiarity with academic databases and research platforms
- An interest in community, health, wellbeing, disability, social impact, advocacy or related fields

Time Commitment
Flexible. We are happy to work around study, employment and family commitments. A commitment of approximately 2-5 hours per week would be welcomed.
