Learning & Development Lead

Lead a talented team. Turn priorities into action. Help volunteers make a meaningful difference.
4 Voices provides early intervention through connection -creating opportunities for women to connect with people, community, practical assistance, opportunity and trusted support before challenges become crises.
Our volunteers bring this mission to life. As our Learning & Development Lead, you’ll help ensure they have the confidence, capability and support they need to create safe, welcoming and meaningful connections.
About the opportunity
This is primarily a people leadership and project coordination role.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you’ll lead and support our national volunteer L&D team, provide clarity around priorities and oversee a portfolio of learning projects.
You don’t need to personally design or deliver every learning initiative. Your greatest contribution will be helping the team feel valued, supported and clear about what matters most - while keeping projects organised and moving forward.
How you’ll contribute
You’ll:
- Lead, encourage and coordinate the national L&D team.
- Turn organisational priorities into clear, achievable team plans.
- Help team members understand their responsibilities, priorities and next steps.
- Oversee projects, timelines, milestones and team capacity.
- Bring together program leaders, subject-matter experts and team members.
- Keep the COO informed about progress, emerging challenges and support required.
- Encourage feedback, collaboration and continuous improvement.
This opportunity could be a great fit if you:
- Enjoy bringing people together and helping them do their best work.
- Have experience leading or coordinating a team.
- Can oversee projects and priorities without losing sight of the people involved.
- Communicate clearly, warmly and constructively.
- Are comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
- Can create structure, maintain momentum and adapt when priorities change.
- Have an interest in learning, volunteer development or community impact.
Experience in learning and development may be helpful, but strong people leadership and project coordination skills are most important.
What you’ll gain
- A meaningful national leadership opportunity.
- Experience working directly with a Chief Operating Officer.
- The chance to shape learning that supports volunteers across Australia.
- Opportunities to strengthen your leadership and project management experience.
- Connection with a collaborative, purpose-driven volunteer community.
- The satisfaction of helping others create connection before crisis.
