If you have an interest in theatre and the arts and would like to gain fundraising skills, enhance existing skills, or just explore fundraising as a valued member of a friendly and flexible team, Melbourne Writers' Theatre would love to hear from you!

Established in 1982, Melbourne Writers' Theatre (MWT) is a respected Melbourne-based organisation that supports playwrights right across Victoria. MWT's annual calendar of events features the key script development program Page to Stage, the community writing programs Gasworks Script Lab and The Green Room Project, and the theatrical showcases of new plays written by MWT playwrights.

Every year MWT provides rich opportunities for writers and actors, but also for volunteers who are interested in gaining work experience in the arts industry and contributing to this flourishing sector. MWT is led by a hard-working Committee who meet regularly throughout the year and will listen to you, support you and capacity-build you.

As our Fundraising Assistant you will have the opportunity to gain new skills by completing short courses offered through the Institute of Community Directors Australia (ICDA), funded by MWT. You will also receive VIP tickets to all MWT theatrical events and make connections within the Victorian theatre industry.

Fundraising projects will be suggested by us, but may also be created and led by you. The $ you raise will help us to develop and stage more new plays written by our diverse community of playwrights.

Our ideal candidate will have fantastic time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines. While fundraising experience isn't necessary, any experience will be valued and further developed. Familiarity with social media platforms Instagram and Facebook, and strong verbal and written communication skills, will also be helpful. Problem-solving ability and the desire to come up with solutions will also be highly regarded.
