Join the Movement: Become a Board Member of Cycling Without Age Australia Cycling Without Age Australia (CWAA) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to bringing joy, connection, and the freedom of cycling to older people and those with limited mobility. Our network of passionate volunteers across the country uses specially designed trishaws to offer free rides to passengers, creating unforgettable intergenerational experiences and building inclusive communities.
We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced individuals to join our Management Committee and help guide CWAA’s continued growth and impact. If our mission inspires you, and you have a desire to contribute strategically at a national level, we’d love to hear from you.
Desirable Skill Sets and Experience:
- Governance and Strategic Planning – Experience serving on boards or committees, understanding of governance frameworks and strategic development.
- Finance and Accounting – Budgeting, financial oversight, and reporting; CPA/CA qualification desirable.
- Fundraising and Grant Writing – Ability to develop funding strategies, secure sponsorships, and write successful grant applications.
- Marketing and Communications – Public relations, media engagement, content creation, or brand development.
- Legal and Risk Management – Familiarity with not-for-profit legal obligations, risk assessment, and compliance.
- Volunteer and Community Engagement – Understanding of volunteer coordination and stakeholder management.
- IT and Digital Systems – Knowledge in managing digital platforms, websites, and data systems.
- Diversity, Equity & Inclusion – Commitment to inclusive practices and experience promoting accessibility and representation.
We are especially keen to hear from individuals from diverse backgrounds and regional communities across Australia. Prior board experience is welcome but not essential if you bring strong relevant skills and a commitment to learning. Strong communication skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to work well as part of a team are essential.
Location: Australia Wide - Monthly meetings held virtually, 9.00am to 11.00am AWST Commitment: Approximately 4–6 hours per month.
