English Teacher - Working with Love Project

Position Overview:
Mind for Life is seeking an English teacher for our Working with Love project, a new initiative focused on providing vital educational support to underprivileged children in low-income communities in Bogota, Colombia. These children are not receiving government assistance due to the country’s economic pressures. As an English teacher, you will play a key role in providing these children with access to quality education and helping them overcome educational barriers. You will be responsible for teaching English in an engaging, supportive, and inclusive manner, helping students develop essential language skills that can significantly impact their future.
Key Responsibilities: • Teach English language skills to children from underprivileged backgrounds. • Develop engaging lesson plans and educational materials that cater to the students’ needs. • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to learn and grow. • Track student progress and provide regular feedback to help them improve. • Collaborate with other educators and staff members to ensure the success of the program. • Participate in regular meetings to discuss the progress of the students and the project. • Help create a safe, inclusive space for learning, ensuring that all students feel valued and supported.

Required Work Days: • Friday mornings from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM for 10 consecutive weeks.
Requirements: • Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is essential. • Previous teaching experience is a plus but not mandatory; passion for education is key. • Strong organizational skills and the ability to create structured lesson plans. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • A passion for working with children and a commitment to supporting underprivileged communities. • Knowledge of Spanish is beneficial but not required.
