About the role

The Resource Development Volunteer plays a pivotal role in the Department of Program Quality and Impact, focusing on enhancing the support provided to people seeking asylum. This position involves the development and implementation of critical resources that aid frontline service delivery. The volunteer will be responsible for researching, coordinating, and creating informational materials such as client external services brochures and educational packs. By fulfilling these responsibilities, the Resource Development Volunteer will contribute to a more informed and supported client base, enhancing the overall effectiveness of service delivery at the department.

Program: Program Quality and Impact

The Department of Program Quality and Impact works closely with program managers and subject matter experts (SMEs) within the ASRC’s Community Portfolio to support high-quality Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) systems for our service design and delivery. We track our impact and drive continuous learning, innovation, and improvement, in line with the ASRC’s Strategic Plan, Theory of Change, and Outcomes Measurement Framework. This ensures accountability to service users, funders, and other key stakeholders. The Department also drives participatory, lived experience co-design approaches within our systems and culture. It contributes to building an evidence-based, better practice, impact-focused and strategic organisation, which delivers a fair social return on investment from our finite resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting thorough research to identify and compile relevant external services and resources for clients.
  • Coordinating and developing clear, comprehensive brochures and information packs that outline available services and support mechanisms.
  • Engaging with both external and internal stakeholders to ensure that referral pathways are well-defined and effectively communicated.
  • Ensuring that all resources are accurate, accessible, and tailored to meet the needs of clients & Staff (including coordinating written translations).
  • Developing and maintaining the database of services for staff and clients

What we're looking for

Essential:

  • Experience in, or currently pursuing, or holding a relevant degree or qualification in fields such as Project Management, Community Services, Human-Centered Design, Social Research, Psychology, Business Development, or related disciplines.
  • Ability to coordinate projects effectively, including engaging and communicating with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent written communication skills in English.
  • Strong commitment to the principles of social justice, equity, cultural sensitivity, and inclusion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Desirable:

  • Experience in a similar role
  • The lived experience of seeking asylum or refugee background
