Social Enterprise Engagement Volunteer

About the role
The Social Enterprise Engagement Volunteer will work collaboratively with the Social Enterprise Engagement Coordinator to provide support to people seeking asylum and refugees who are employed by ASRC’s Social Enterprises. You’ll be engaging directly with staff to develop pathways to meaningful employment as well as providing administration support to coordinate the delivery of training and skills development workshops focused on boosting employability and job readiness.
Program
The ASRC Social Enterprises exist to create pathways to sustainable employment and financial independence for people seeking asylum. The ASRC currently operates two social enterprises - ASRC Catering and ASRC Cleaning. These enterprises provide people seeking asylum and refugees with training and work experience to develop new skills and regain autonomy and purpose. Our Social Enterprises are in an exciting period of increasing impact through business growth. By scaling the businesses and exploring new market opportunities, we aim to create more jobs and employment pathway opportunities for people seeking asylum and refugees living in the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and conduct one-on-one appointments with Social Enterprise staff to develop Pathway Development Plans (PDPs) supporting their professional and personal goals, identifying the skills, needs, or challenges relevant to achieve them.
- Schedule and conduct ongoing check-ins with Social Enterprise staff to track progress against the PDPs, identifying any changes to the planned actions
- Record and document relevant information to support the needs of Social Enterprise staff including contact notes and referral requests for training or holistic support.
- Support the Social Enterprise Engagement Coordinator in the planning and organising of training sessions for Social Enterprise staff.
- Support the induction, onboarding, and post-placement of new Social Enterprise staff.
- Collaborate with ASRC staff and volunteers to implement tools and processes to support the monitoring and evaluation framework, including conducting surveys and interviews with Social Enterprise staff
- Contribute new ideas for improving processes and operations to ensure a positive and meaningful experience for Social Enterprise staff.
