Work Health Safety Officer
Overview
The Work Health and Safety (WHS) Officer plays a key role in building a strong safety culture for Mynd Volunteers, ensuring compliance with WHS legislation and best practices. This role involves all aspects of incident management, risk reduction, and emergency planning. You will collaborate with various employee groups to improve WHS initiatives and promote safety standards, ergonomics, and overall workplace wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the organisation's approach to the development and implementation of WHS management systems
- Ensure that the organisation is compliant with the WHS legislation within all states of Australia
- Engage with management and staff on WHS issues and programs, communicate and promote effective WHS practices
About you
- Excellent written, verbal and public speaking skills necessary to communication clearly and persuasively
- Strong understanding of WHS legislation and the ability to amend any non-compliant issues
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Eye for detail, somebody who can operate independently with minimal supervision
