Business Support Volunteer - Social Enterprises

About the role
The Business Support Volunteer will play a key role in supporting the growth and sustainability of ASRC Social Enterprises by assisting with business initiatives, supporting business planning, and monitoring and evaluation (M&E). This role will help strengthen ASRC's impact by supporting business growth strategies, identifying new market opportunities, and supporting in optimising current business processes.

The ASRC Social Enterprises exist to create pathways to sustainable employment and financial independence for people seeking asylum. The ASRC currently operates two social enterprises - ASRC Catering and ASRC Cleaning. These enterprises provide people seeking asylum with training and work experience to develop new skills and regain autonomy and purpose.
Our Social Enterprises are in an exciting period of increasing impact through business growth. By scaling existing enterprises and exploring new market opportunities we aim to create more jobs and employment pathway opportunities for people seeking asylum living in the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on market trends, competitor analysis, and customer
- insights for Catering, Cleaning, and Journeys Café.
- Identify new business opportunities and potential partnerships to support revenue growth.
- Assist in the collection, analysis, and reporting of key M&E metrics
- Identify potential clients and partners to expand ASRC’s customer base
- Provide general administrative support, including data entry, maintaining
- client databases, and scheduling meetings as needed.
- Assist with preparing materials for business development meetings.
What we’re looking for
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Experience or interest in business development, sales, or marketing.
- Knowledge of social enterprises, non-profits, or small business growth strategies is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
