Tele Social Support Service Volunteer (3551)

We are seeking volunteers to make daily and/or social conversation calls to Seniors in the Community for our Telecross and TeleCHAT initiatives. Telecross Volunteers provide a daily morning phone call to check on the wellbeing of people who are lonely and or at risk of an accident or illness that may go unnoticed. The calls provide reassurance as well as help to maintain independence. Alternatively, TeleCHAT provides a phone call to people who will benefit from a social chat once a week.
Develop social skills, connect to the community, grow confidence and independence, expand friendships and social networks, gain experience within the Community Services sector, and share experiences that comfort and inspire others. This role can be performed from Home.
Training on the support software and short course on Elder support services specifics. This role requires an Australian Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
