Helpers for our organic Farm Gate Stall!

Green Thumb Farm

At Green Thumb Farm, we believe in making a tangible difference in the lives of children and families through our hands on farm programs that inspire, educate and impact.

When school children, families and adults from right across SEQ visit Green Thumb Farm, they get hands on experiences of organic farming, composting, and sustainable agriculture that can change their trajectory for life.

ABOUT US We are a not-for-profit, and we value working with volunteers who share our big mission of rekindling a love for locally grown food in people and especially children!

POSSIBILITIES GALORE Our Saturday morning volunteers have a number of different ways to get involved, as well have lots of different jobs happening all at once.

We sell our organic produce at our FarmGate stall from 9am - 11am every Saturday. It is one of the main ways that we being income into our farm.

From 6.30 - 8.30am we harvest our fresh vegetables, herbs and flowers, including washing them, and bundling things together.

8.30-9am - we get our signs up and ready to go!

From 9am - 11am we sell our fresh produce, flowers, and seedlings from our nursery to the lovely community of people who come to the farm each week and it is crazy fun!

11am - 12pm we put everything back into place, take down signs etc. and share in any left overs!

You don't need any previous gardening or nursery experience, just a willingness to learn and to follow instructions and ask for guidance if you need it.

There are a number of different roles you could help depending on what your interests and your mobility, eg putting our signs, or harvesting and washing the vegetables, or harvesting flowers and bundling them into bunches, or helping us on the stall to sell the produce.

WE SHARE OUR ABUNDANCE We invite our volunteers to share in our produce at the end of a shift. Imagine going home with some fresh veges for dinner, a bunch of flowers, or some seedlings to get your own garden going. So beautiful.
