About the organisation - We at MYND Initiative Inc. believe that mental health matters to everyone and that everyone has their own story to tell. Our mission is to remove the stigma associated with mental illness, help people to develop good mental health hygiene, develop skills to cope in a mental health crisis and to feel comfortable talking about their own mental health. In doing this we hope to develop communities of understanding who are able to listen to and support those struggling with mental health issues as well as enabling those communities to develop individualised mental health awareness programs.

About the role The Wellbeing and Engagement Lead is responsible for driving initiatives for maintaining contact with the members of MYND Initiative to ensure they are engaged and happy in their role.

The role of the Wellbeing and Engagement Lead will involve:

  • Leading initiatives with team members for making contact with MYND Initiative Members to check-in (formal/scheduled meetings and informal/casual conversations) with them and see how they are doing. This contact may be through Slack, email or messages.
  • Communicating any issues to the HR Leader or Chief Administration Officer.
  • Ensuring that Members have the appropriate training and knowledge to undertake their volunteer role.
  • Establish clear channels for members to provide feedback on their experiences and suggestions for improvement.
  • Organise social activities and events for the Members of MYND.

About you You will have:

  • The ability to lead and and guide others while remaining a team player
  • Rapport building skills with the ability to liaise with all members of the organisation,
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Active listening skills and an empathetic nature.
  • Proficiency with information and communication technology.
  • Be flexible to work with changing priorities based on business needs
  • A warm and welcoming nature.
