Who we are?

Go Girl, Go for IT stands as Victoria's premier free event tailored to school-aged girls from years 5 to 12. Its primary objective is to enlighten and empower young girls to explore careers in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) by spotlighting the diverse and exhilarating professional pathways available to them.​

What is required from a Volunteer:

This is a volunteer role based in Victoria. Successful applicants should allocate 2 to 6 hours per week and understand that some weeks or months will be busier than others.

The role is ongoing and is mainly remote with the occasional in person meeting.

Note: The role is open to any applicant, Female, Male, Non/Binary. Personality Traits we value:

What roles are available

We are currently looking for volunteers in all departments. If you are keen to join our mission and are able to commit time to volunteering with us then we would love to hear from you. Below is a brief overview of each team along with their responsibilities:

1. 👮🏼 Governance: Ensuring the Go Girl program keeps to scope, time and budget; maximising our impact in educating, inspiring, and attracting the next generation of female STEM professionals
2. 🤝🏽 Girls Liaison: Attracting schools and parents to attend the Go Girl program where their girls will be educated, inspired and attracted to STEM pathways and careers
3. 👩🏻‍💼 Sales incl Account Management: Attracting and sustaining relationships with organisations who are seeking to improve diversity and influence the next generation of female STEM professionals – aka their future workforce – to sponsor and contribute to the Go Girl program
4. 👩🏽‍💻 Volunteers: To attract, recruit, onboard and retain people who are keen and inspired to be part of organising or positively impacting the next generation of female STEM professionals
5. 👩🏾‍🏫 Tradeshow: Exciting and attracting the next generation of female STEM professionals through exhibits and play
6. 📰 Marketing: To influence and communicate the Go Girl program's position as the program that excites, educates, inspires and attracts the next generation of female STEM professionals
7. 📈 Data & Insights: Tracking our impact on the next generation of female STEM professionals
