Overview of the role

The Treasurer/Finance Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the financial management and sustainability of Transition Bondi. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, developing budgets, and providing financial guidance to support the organisation's mission of fostering sustainability within the Bondi and Eastern Suburbs community.

The Treasurer/Finance Manager reports to the Transition Bondi Steering Committee and collaborates closely with other team members to ensure effective financial planning and compliance with financial regulations.

This role is well-suited for retired individuals, stay-at-home parents, or recent graduates seeking opportunities to stay active, contribute meaningfully to their community, and gain or retain valuable skills in financial management and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate financial records, including income, expenses, assets, and liabilities.
• Monitor cash flow and ensure the organisation's financial stability.
• Prepare and present financial reports to the Transition Bondi Steering Committee.
• Develop annual budgets in collaboration with the Transition Bondi Steering Group and relevant stakeholders.
• Monitor budget implementation and provide financial guidance to support strategic decision-making.
• Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure transparency, accountability, and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, reporting requirements, and other statutory obligations.

Qualifications:

• Qualifications in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field (preferred).
• Experience in financial management, accounting, or a similar role.
• Understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
• Proficiency in financial software and tools.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Commitment to the mission and values of Transition Bondi.
• Previous experience volunteering desirable.
