The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this position on behalf of Special Olympics Melbourne Inner East.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Working with the Club Sports Coordinator and individual Sports Program Coordinators to develop season calendars for each of our club-run sports programs (currently 7).
  • Create and monitor online forms for athletes to register and pay for sports programs and competitions.
  • Monitor the completion of attendance worksheets by the individual Sports Program Coordinators.
  • Assist the Club Membership Officer with monitoring and following up on athlete, volunteer and coach compliance and checks, including status of membership, program registration, accreditation, medicals and WWC checks, where applicable to role.
  • Reconciling athlete sports program registration and payment to attended sessions.
  • Assist the Club Chair, Treasurer and Sports Coordinator in reconciling athlete competition entries and payments - both for club-hosted games and those hosted by other clubs or state.
  • Supporting the Club Sports Coordinator and individual Sports Program Coordinators in the administrative tasks for running inter-club competitions, where assistance is required.

Skills and Experience:

  • Sports administration or development experience (or enrolled at TAFE or university and completing your diploma or degree)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience &/or exposure to online booking systems (e.g. Humanitix, TryBooking, Eventbright, etc.)
  • Strong skills and experience with Microsoft Office - particularly, Excel, Word, SharePoint/OneDrive and Teams.
  • Highly organised and reliable
  • Able to work independently and show initiative
  • Strong computer literacy and capability to maintain accurate records
  • Must have own computer
  • Willing to work flexible hours from home

Note: Role can be largely delivered remotely. Would possibly suit someone in the inner E/S/SE suburbs of Melbourne for in-person interaction, meeting etc. needed.
