Asylum Seeker Resource Centre

About The Role

The Employment team works to build positive relationships with local employers to source suitable job opportunities for ASRC members, from entry level roles to career-building pathways. We’re looking for a social media marketer with a strong knowledge of LinkedIn to help us engage, inform and promote the work of the Employment and Mentoring Programs to current and potential partners, as well as the general LinkedIn network.

Program: Employment

The Employment program supports people seeking asylum who have work rights to find their first job in Australia, by becoming skilled, savvy and independent job-seekers within the local labour market. We also focus on building strategic relationships between the ASRC and supportive employers through our Employer Partnerships team. This provides the basis for organisations to contact the ASRC when they are in need of workers, as well as the ASRC being able to contact organisations to propose suitable candidates to meet their staffing needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Migrate our current LinkedIn personal profile to a business page
  • Research, recommend and create effective social media content for LinkedIn
  • Schedule weekly content, monitor post performance and moderate engagements
  • Create and implement a business-to-business strategy to attract new partners
  • Write and edit online marketing content, in consultation with our broader Marketing team
  • Work within our strict brand and style guidelines

What we’re looking for

Essential

  • Demonstrated experience managing LinkedIn pages
  • Business-to-business social media marketing experience using relevant platforms and programs
  • Well-developed written and spoken communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a team toward shared goals

Desirable

  • Experience using social media management tools (such as Sprout Social and Hootsuit, amongst others.)
  • Experience in communications and marketing

Volunteer shifts

This role is looking for a minimum commitment of 1 shift per week, ideally for 6 months. Shifts available: Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday 10am - 5pm.
